Founded in 2006, Enalp is the result of a partnership between four Local Distribution Companies (ELD in French), the Compagnie Nationale du Rhône and Electrabel France.

The company thus inherits the competencies linked to distribution and electricity supply to professional and household clients. It allows each consumer to enjoy a local commercial relationship and a personalized follow-up. As an emblematic energy provider in the Rhône-Alpes region, Enalp is historically an engaged player in satisfying their clients.

Conscious of the importance of digital solutions in the relationship with users, Enalp decided to develop new services to provide the best solution in this field. In order to offer a service of high quality and reduce the development cost, the company has partnered with GridPocket. This collaboration led to the execution of a new customer relationship strategy using digital tools.

A solution targeting professionals

For Enalp, professionals are the primary customer segment concerned by the development of a new digital solution. Indeed, with 500 000 jobs (employees and non-employees) dispatched on 50 000 sites, the Rhône-Alpes region is the first industrial region of France. Most of the energy provider’s professional clients express how complex it is to monitor their consumption due to the multiplicity of their sites.

“Many of our professional clients have a multitude of work sites, with activities sometimes independent from one site to another. This implicates different energy consumptions per site for each client. Therefore, we had to work on a tool to make these players’ consumption monitoring easier on all their different sites.

The main challenge identified was to centralize et simplify information on a same interface to simplify the multisite analysis. The second challenge was to simplify the sites’ passive management with an AI system that would alert the site managers in case of abnormal energy activities. The last goal was to allow the assignment of one or many administrators to each site for an individual monitoring”, adds Mr. Moras, director of Enalp.

A new generation of client platform

Enalp used the experience and innovations of GridPocket, the French specialist of white label digital solutions for energy providers, to develop a new generation of client platform for their professional clients. After much pondering on the needs of the clients, the new online client interface was structured in four parts:

  • A dashboard where the clients’ data is summarized
  • An advanced load curve analysis for each site with management of the tariff aspects
  • An intelligent alert configuration tool
  • An administrator management module for each site

Mr. Moras adds that “the approach suggested by GridPocket was the most relevant solution to our needs and capacities. Its easy implementation was a crucial point because it was important to us that its adoption would be quick. Moreover, the business approach between Enalp and GridPocket unfolded in a complementary and collaborative manner. The support offered during the development of the interface was remarkable. They were attentive and responsive to any technical or methodological question from our team.”

The interface’s dashboard

The dashboard summarizes the client’s overall consumptions. It shows a list of all their sites, their locations, the total multisite consumption and the consumption per site on a one-month time span.

An advanced analysis with tariff management

An “Analysis” page allows users to get a more precise grasp of the consumption per site, with a large panel of tools to run more accurate searches and improve understanding.

The real significance of this solution comes down to enabling an easier management of the complex aspect of tariffication. For these clients, there are different types of tariffication. With the tool defined by GridPocket, it is possible to integrate them and show them in the client interface. Consequently, consumptions are indicated by tariffication periods with a color code with a summary of consumptions per type of tariff.

Alerts management

Alerts allow for a configuration of power and consumption limits over which the users wish to be notified, or in case of an outage. This tool gives the client the possibility to passively follow abnormal energy activities on either of their sites.

Nevertheless, this module’s added value mainly resides in the suggested AI. The user can configure intelligent alerts and, from a coefficient chosen by the client, can automatically define maximum consumption limits compared to a similar period during the previous year.

Management of groups

Lastly, administrator groups can be created for each site on the “Groups” page. Each group will have access to the consumptions and alerts linked solely to the site to which it has been assigned.

“This new client interface helps us to fully meet the needs of our professional clients and we’ve already received really positive feedback regarding it. We are very proud to have developed this first new generation solution and it will be implemented to the different entities of the Enalp group. Encouraged by this success, we wish to strengthen this partnership by proposing an innovative solution for individuals.”, Mr. Moras concluded.
