GridPocket just participated to the first meeting of the DEFEND project with the presence of European project officer Georgios Kaiafas at the ATOS premises in Barcelona.

 

The main objective of the project is to create a platform capable of helping companies and institutions manage the several requirements of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance. This new regulation has come into effect since last May and has caused lot of turmoil both within companies and public institutions due to the stringent requirements and under the menace of very hefty fines.

Among the many partner present at the event that represent the totality of the consortium, notice Ionian University from Greece; the children hospital of Madrid; Abilab, an innovation center for the banking sector in Italy; Business-e, an Italian system integrator; the Bird and Bird Law Firm; the University of Brighton; PDMFC, a system integrator from Portugal; and the Pesthera Municipality from Bulgaria.

The main task of the GridPocket is to participate in the specification of the requirements for a privacy management framework thus leveraging its expertise in privacy and application of GDPR and Gridpocket will be a leading partner in the preparation of pilots capable of showing the worthiness of the platform.

Gridpocket has just completed the rollout of its GDPR compliance program, in time for the deadline of the 25th of May; and it has joined this project to further enhance the capabilities offered to its clients.
