Sophia Antipolis, 26th of March 2020 - GridPocket participates in the SMESEC project (Protecting Small and Medium-sized Enterprises digital technology through an innovative cyber-SECurity framework), a three-year multi-disciplinary Innovation Action co-funded by the European Commission in the context of Horizon 2020, the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.

The SMESEC project is an integral part of the “Digital Security: Cybersecurity, Privacy and Trust” programme and addresses the issues related to cybersecurity awareness and protection for small and medium organisations.

One of the main motivations of the consortium is that SMEs do not only look at cybersecurity as an obstacle, but they also understand the business opportunity beyond it.

The SMESEC consortium is developing a cost-effective framework composed of specific cyber-security toolkits to support SMEs in managing cyberinformation security risks and threats, as well as in identifying opportunities for implementing secure innovative technologies in the digital market.

Filip Gluszak, CEO at GridPocket said: “When Small and Medium Enterprises begin digitalizing or connecting their systems and processes online, a range of important questions about cybersecurity emerge. The digitalization of the energy sector and the recent development of data market made cybersecurity and data privacy management key challenges for utilities and energy service companies. It is therefore crucial for us to raise cybersecurity awareness among European SMEs. The SMESEC project represents a step forward towards digital security with its multi-disciplinary approach and we are proud to participate to this important project.”

SMESEC is a project co-financed of the European Commission under the scope of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) of the Framework Program Horizon 2020. The project started in June 2017 and is coordinated by Atos. The consortium members include WorldSensing S.L.N.E (Spain), Panepistimio Patron (Greece), Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (Greece), Easy Global Market (France), SCYTL Secure Electronic Voting (Spain), GridPocket (France), Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz (Switzerland), Citrix (Greece), IBM Israel – Science and technology (Israel), BitDefender (Romania), Universiteit Utrecht (Netherlands).
